Being served Champagne and wine, in Simon Pearce stemware, was an unexpected treat for us when we arrived at Twin Farms, in Vermont.  I have visited the Simon Pearce showroom and glass blowing studio for years, seen their items in retail stores, and have been to signature events hosted by the company.  Sipping champagne, from their handcrafted pieces of functional art, is always a pleasure.

Since our summer issue has a lot of French inspired articles, my eye was immediately drawn to a gorgeous photo of a French Chateau on Facebook.  Assuming it was a chateau in France, I was pleasantly surprised to find the historic property is located in Newport, Rhode Island.  With that said, I then got carried away by looking at other luxury properties, for sale in New England, and found five I would like to share with you.

A trip to St. John and finding a bit of New England!

I know I have been a bit quiet on my blog, web site, twitter, facebook, yada, yada, yada,  but can you blame me?  This is the view I am working from, right this very moment.  I'm on St. John for a much needed vacation and also a mini press trip with my guy, so I have been busy taking pictures and taking notes to share with all of my readers from around the world.  Those stories, recipes, and photos will be posted on New England Fine Living's web site soon.    I have also been pleasantly surprised with all of the connections to New England including decorative touches in our private three bedroom villa that we are staying in. 

I have also been enjoying not only the culture, the views, and the large and small island critters (wild donkeys, pigs, goats, mongoose, iguanas, katydids, and so much more), but I have also been enjoying lots of local frozen and non-frozen drinks, and local meals.  Hey!  It's all in the name of research! :-) and I am going to share some of the recipes with you.

A trip to the Azore Island Ponta Delgada

What a great treat it was to visit the Azores. I just returned from a day trip to Fall River, MA to visit Battleship Cove, and I was pleased to see flags with Ponta Delgada posted. While visiting Ponta Delgada, I was told that Fall River had a large population of Porteguese from the Island. This world is getting smaller and smaller with each of my travels.
