A Countryside New England Style Contemporary Bathroom Gets A Makeover

From Orange To Green... Adding a little New England Style Flair

I was asked to select a color that would work with this New England style contemporary home.  They had just installed new floors, cabinets, lighting, fixtures, and a granite top to the vanity.  A soft soothing historical New England green, from Benjamin Moore, called Hollingsworth Green was selected to complement everything in the room.

After a little prep work and sanding, I primed over the green board, spackle, and deep orange paint, let it dry, then followed up with an eggshell finish.

PROJECT TIPS:

Keep your coats of spackle thin and feather the edges to lessen the amount of sanding needed.

when sanding, it is helpful to have a vacuum head following below to help suck up the dust before it spreads around the room.

Isn't it amazing how color can change the feel of a room.

Red, White, and Blue 4th of July Party Ideas

For a quick last minute treat to bring to a friends house last year, I created these yummy skewers out of strawberries, white chocolate covered pretzels, and blueberries (note... keep them in the shade or you will have melted pretzels :-)   ).  If you would like some more 4th of July party ideas and decorating tips, you can visit my Red, White, and Blue 4th of July party page

Rustic Barn Wedding or Cocktail Party in a Barn

Barn weddings and barn parties don't have to be an all out "rustic" theme, but what a great juxtaposition of wood, flowers, linen, crystal...
